Which bike would you recommend I get? The Trek Madone 4.7 or the Specialized Tarmac Expert? Both same price.

I am a big fan of Treks. It is a tough brand, and a bike that will last you a long time if you take care of it.

In less your a bad rider I would get the expert I mean you need to be good and all.

Neither is optimum. I would recomend the Hedley Maximus Alloy Commander.

Well, I am no expert, but Bicycling Magazine is — they opine the best bike made is the Madone. That is good enough for me.

I would go with the Madone. The integrated bottom bracket is very cool. Cyclingnews. com did a write up on it a couple of months ago and they agreed with Bicycling in that it was one of the best bikes they’d ever ridden. Hard to argue with that!

i hate to disagree with everybody, but the geometry on the specialized is way better. trek have a more traditional top tube, specialized are compact so they are lighter and more rigid which is a good thing
